The news of the 2nd generation Wireless In-Wheel Motor (W-IWM) was released on Apr. 5.Our laboratory has developed the W-IWM system for proving a fundamental solution to the power-lines disconnection problem of In-Wheel Motor (IWM). While the 1st generation W-IWM achieves bidirectional Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) from the chassis side to the IWM side, the 2nd generation W-IWM has capability of Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (D-WPT) from the road side to the IWM side. It is a remarkable progress that the converter circuits for D-WPT and the power management system using Lithium-ion Capacitor (LiC) are implemented in the IWM side.
The 2nd generation W-IWM will be exhibited in TECHNO-FRONTIER 2017 on Apr. 19-21.
